Honoring Our Heroes: Why Advanced Air Conditioning + Heating is Proud to Sponsor Georgetown’s Field of Honor

Advanced Comfort. Made Simple.

As an HVAC company serving the Central Texas area, we believe in more than just keeping homes comfortable — we believe in supporting the community and honoring those who serve us. That’s why we’re honored to sponsor the 9th Annual Georgetown Field of Honor®, taking place November 8–16, 2025, at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown.

In this post, we’ll share what the Field of Honor is, how you can get involved (volunteering, flag purchases), and how our HVAC team sees parallels between providing comfort at home and giving back to our community.

What Is the Field of Honor®?

  • The Field of Honor® is a dramatic, week-long display of over 2,000 full-size (3′ × 5′) U.S. flags, each dedicated to veterans, active or reserve military, first responders, K9 units, or equestrian heroes.

  • The event is free to visit, open 24/7 during the week.

  • Flag sales, donations, sponsorships, and on-site purchases fund veteran and first responder initiatives via the Rotary Club of Georgetown Foundation.

This powerful visual — a sea of waving flags — is meant to stir gratitude, reflection, and community pride.

How You Can Participate: Flags, Volunteering & More

1. Purchase or Dedicate a Flag

  • Each flag can be dedicated to a hero in your life.

  • New flags cost $45; earlier year flags in good condition can be reposted for $25.

  • Flags must be picked up November 15 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) or November 16 (9 a.m.–3 p.m.), or shipped (for an extra fee).

2. Volunteer Opportunities
This event is made possible by volunteers working behind the scenes — and we encourage you to sign up. Roles include:

  • Assembling and placing flags

  • Assisting visitors and docents

  • Staffing the flag sales tent and event tent

  • Helping with flag pick-up at the end of the week

  • Event support (e.g. set up, tear down)

(Volunteers usually sign up starting in September — check the Field of Honor volunteer page closer to the event.)

3. Attend Ceremonies & Events
Over the week, there are many special ceremonies, exhibits, and performances:

  • Opening Ceremony on November 9 (1:30–2:45 p.m.): music, flyovers, Parade of Colors, static displays, keynote speech by Captain Dave Carey (ret)

  • Veterans Day Ceremony — November 11 (11 a.m.–noon), with flyover, music, and keynote speaker Major General Scott Efflandt (ret)

  • Quilt of Valor ceremonies, student field trips, static displays, “Dear Hero” station, and more throughout the week

Visiting, especially at dawn or dusk, is a moving experience when the flags are lit and the sight is stunning.

Why We Sponsor — The HVAC / Community Connection

At Advanced Air Conditioning + Heating, we see several parallels between our work and what the Field of Honor embodies:

  • Serving our community — Just as the event honors service, our mission is to serve local homeowners with quality cooling and heating solutions.

  • Reliability under pressure — Our technicians respond during Texas summers and winters — much like first responders work under tough conditions.

  • Comfort and care — A well-functioning HVAC system is about safety, comfort, and peace of mind. Supporting the Field of Honor is another way to bring comfort — in a symbolic, appreciative way — to those who sacrifice for us.

  • Teamwork and dedication — Just as the Rotary Club coordinates countless volunteers and tasks, so does our team coordinate behind the scenes to deliver dependable service.

By sponsoring, we reinforce our values and commitment to this community. We’re proud to stand with the Field of Honor and invite you to join us in honoring heroes.

We look forward to meeting many of you at the field — and if your HVAC system needs service or inspection as the cooler season approaches, we’d be honored to serve you with the same respect and dedication we show our community.
